Happy Valentine's Day

It's been a romantic off-season for a handful of Championship Tour (CT) athletes. Lakey Peterson and Caio Ibelli each got engaged to their longtime partners, while Kolohe Andino and Carissa Moore said their vows shortly after the Championship Tour season wrapped in December. The surfers listed here are officially off the market, but that doesn't mean you can't share the love. From all of us at the World Surf League, Happy Valentine's Day.

Lakey Peterson and Thomas Allan

Santa Barbara native Lakey Peterson got engaged to her boyfriend, Thomas Allan, just a few weeks ago. Allan, a surfer from Australia, got on one knee and popped the question to the current World No. 6 with close friends and family nearby. Friend and World No. 8 Sage Erickson was there to witness the big moment. "Tom has always been such a romantic with Lakes and their love is so special," she said. "They work as a perfect team and he knows her so well. She is one happy wife-to-be and I couldn't be more happy for them."

Caio Ibelli and Alessa Quizon

Brazilian CT surfer Caio Ibelli proposed to Alessa Quizon, his long-time girlfriend and a current Qualifying Series competitor, in Hawaii at the start of year. Quizon, who grew up on Oahu's west side, qualified for the CT when she was just 18, but went back to the QS last year. Ibelli, meanwhile, made the Tour in 2016, winning the Rookie of the Year award at the end of his first season. Quizon said, "We can be competitive at times, but I'd rather have him the way he is than, say, him not knowing anything about surfing. I wouldn't want it any other way."

Kolohe Andino and Madison Brooke-Aldrich

Over the holidays, Kolohe Andino married Madison Brooke-Aldrich in their hometown of San Clemente. The couple met seven years ago and got engaged last Christmas in their new home. Andino finished the 2017 season ranked No. 7 in the world, and is poised to keep the momentum going when the 2018 CT kicks off on the Gold Coast next month.

Carissa Moore and Luke Untermann

It's tough to imagine that 3x Champion Carissa Moore dreams about anything other than winning another World Title, but not Luke Untermann, her new husband. He surprised his high school sweetheart when he proposed to her last year, and ultimately won her heart for life. Of wedding planning, Moore said, "I don't want to stress, I just want to enjoy the process. It's the best feeling in the world to know that someone wants to spend the rest of their life with you and make such a special commitment." The two tied the knot in December.
