Former CT surfer Dimity Stoyle (AUS) will return to Japan this week to defend her title at the White Buffalo Women's Pro. - WSL / S.yamamoto
Chiba, Japan (Thursday, October 26, 2017) - The second edition of the White Buffalo Women's Pro World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) 3000 event is set to kick off this Friday, October 28th. With the powerful Typhoon Saola sitting off the coast and whipping up solid swell, Maruki Point could be on the pump when the competition gets underway. The peak of the forecasted swell coincides perfectly with the Final day meaning we should be in for a fantastic event.
A high-quality international field has entered the event including last year's event winner and former WSL Championship Tour (CT) competitor Dimity Stoyle (AUS) along with last years runner-up Coco Ho (HAW). The two will be joined by fellow CT competitors Pauline Ado (FRA), Johanne Defay (FRA), Bronte Macaulay (AUS), Chelsea Tuach (BRB) and Bianca Buitendag (ZAF).
From Japan, Minori Kawai is currently No. 1 on the WSL Asia QS rankings and along with Ren Hashimoto is ready to utilise their home ground advantage against some of the world's best female surfers.
The filed includes many exciting emerging junior surfers as well lead by Caroline Marks (USA), Macy Callaghan (AUS), Brisa Hennessy (HAW), and from Japan, Shino Matsuda, Sara Wakita, Amuro Tsuzuki, and Minami Nonaka.
The 2017 White Buffalo Women's Pro QS3,000 will be an important competition for domestic and internmational rankings and with great waves likely the event should be an outstanding showdown. For more information on the event head to www.worldsurfleague.com or check out the WSL App.
