The field of competitors at the Los Cabos Open of Surf Women's Qualifying Series (QS) 6,000 has been whittled down to just 16 after another action-packed day and more great performances. It was a day that goofyfooters reveled in with solid conditions when Zippers provided opportunities to some of the world's best and QS elite.
Tatiana Weston-Webb - WSL / Andrew Nichols
Tatiana Weston-Webb's dominance continued by unleashing her backhand once more with yet another excellent score of 8.93 over fellow Championship Tour (CT) competitors Pauline Adoand Sage Erickson. The No. 9 QS-ranked Kauaian is within striking distance of the No. 1 spot with a win and could begin to secure herself in both the CT and QS, but Weston-Webb still has a lot of work ahead of her at Zippers.
"I just waited for the sets and they opened up, and I was able to do bigger maneuvers on those," Weston-Webb said. "It was a lot of fun out there. [Going forward] I'll just have to use priority more seriously and really select the right waves."
Caroline Marks - WSL / Andrew Nichols
Fifteen-year-old Caroline Marks blasted past deadly fellow goofyfooters Bianca Buitendag and Mahina Maeda with a brilliant performance. Marks earned an 8.17 early in the heat and backed it up with a 7.00. Under Mike "Snips" Parsons' mentoring, the young talent has plenty in her arsenal.
"It's great traveling with Mike [Parsons], he's such a legend and he just told me to go out and have fun," Marks said. "We had a whole game plan of where to sit and what to do -- his advice is so helpful. Surfing against Bianca [Buitendag] was great, she's been like an older sister to me when we've surfed together on trips and I've surfed against Mahina [Maeda] for awhile now so that heat was super fun."

Despite a broken hand, Dimity Stoyle earned her way into Round Six with a clutch performance. - WSL / Andrew Nichols
