You may have noticed a running tally during the Fiji Pro broadcast: The number of surfers left from "Team Namotu" and "Team Tavarua." Namotu and Tavarua are two islands close to the main contest site at Cloudbreak and the Tour splits lodgings evenly between them. Namotu, however, has the distinction of being a bit of a man-cave, so when Julian Wilson (AUS) brought his girlfriend to the event, he opted to stay on Tavarua. Josh Kerr (AUS) was glad to keep him company but worried the consequences would be dire.
In the end, Namotu got the ultimate revenge when island rep Owen Wright (AUS) defeated Wilson in the Final.
