Quiksilver Pro France and Roxy Pro France highlights to air on ABC's World of X Games Oct. 19
All the action from the Quiksilver Pro France and the Roxy Pro France is coming to U.S. television this Sunday, October 19. ABC's World of X Games will feature the best of the World Championship Tour's (WCT) arrival on European sand Sunday, October 19, at 5 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.
Held at Hossegor beachbreaks, the Roxy Pro France kicked off the sprint to the World Title. As the brand-new women's Tour leader, Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) took to the water with a trophy on her mind. But she wasn't the only one with her eyes on the prize: Top surfers Tyler Wright (AUS), Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) and Carissa Moore (HAW) were all within arms-reach of snatching the lead from her. By the end of the waiting period, the contest would see a near-perfect Final performance that further tightened the Title race going into the next contest, Portugal's Cascais Women's Pro.
Catch Tyler Wright's explosive Final performance at the Roxy Pro on World of X Games.
For the Top 34, it was all about flying high and digging deep as the ramps and barrels off the coast of France put up plenty of opportunities for massive maneuvers. With Gabriel Medina (BRA) continuing his charge toward becoming the first Brazilian World Champ, the onus was on Kelly Slater (USA), Mick Fanning (AUS) and Joel Parkinson (AUS) to put a dent in the Brazilian's momentum. The Quik Pro France would also see John John Florence (HAW) and Jordy Smith (ZAF) in peak form, coming off their masterful performances at Trestles.
See the best rides of the Quik Pro France on TV.
As the women prepare for the down-to-the-wire Title race in Maui, the men's WCT is currently rounding out the European leg at the Moche Rip Curl Pro Portugal. Watch LIVE and DVR daily through October 23.
