Johanne Defay (FRA) reached a new level in her WCT rookie campaign when she upset Tyler Wright (AUS) in the Quarterfinals.
Tyler Wright scored a 9.00 early in the Quarters but lacked a sufficient backup score and finished equal fifth.

Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) was unstoppable in the Final, scoring a near-perfect heat total of 19.50.
Gilmore's heat total include a Perfect 10, the only one recorded this year at Trestles between both contests.
Gilmore is the first woman to earn a WCT title at Trestles.
Gilmore and Fitzgibbons topped the podium at Trestles.
