The GWM Catch Up Day 2: New standard set in Aussie Treble, first bags packed at Bells Beach

A blistering day powered through the rest of men's debuts with explosive performances from CT Rookie sensation Al Cleland Jr. getting another past his hero of Filipe Toledo, who also advanced, and the backhand hammers from Italo Ferreira went excellent. The Aussies held firm with Jack Robinson leading the charge among more advancing along with former Bells Beach winner Jordy Smith who established himself on the Aussie Treble straight from his El Salvador win. The women provided a showcase all their own with Bettylou Sakura Johnson showing she's not done yet along with Luana Silva also earning a massive heat win.

Men's eliminations followed suit as Matthew McGillivray, Marco Mignot, and Alejo Muniz all earned pivotal wins to keep their season hopes intact at Bells Beach.
