Lower Trestles provided a playground for the Final 5 contenders to push their limits with John John Florence and Caitlin Simmers rising to the top. Florence's immaculate year ended with his third World Title after a seven year drought and once again broke apart the Brazilian Storm over Italo Ferriera's ridiculous surge. The pride of Oceanside, Simmers, brought California its first women's World Title in 40 years and her maiden - becoming the youngest WSL Champion in history. Simmers responded to Marks' backhand attack and took the Title Match down to the final bout, emerging victorious. Florence and Simmers leave Lower Trestles with their names on the Duke Kahanamoku Trophy as 2024 WSL Champions. Thank you to our fans for supporting another incredible year of professional surfing and see you in 2025!
