A massive Australian and international field of over 100 competitors are expected, all vying for a top spot on the WSL Australia / Oceania JQS Rankings and a start at the 2020 World Junior Championships.
Current Australian JQS rankings leader and Manly local George Pittar is hoping to back up his recent victory at the Hydralyte Sports Surf Series Qld Pro Junior with another massive result on home turf.
"Taking out the first event in Queensland was a bit of a dream-come-true, so I'd love to back it up with another big result at home," said Pittar. "This Sydney Surf Pro is always an event we look forward to as juniors and being able to relax at home and be comfortable on the beach I surf every day really takes the pressure off."

Surfing NSW CEO Luke Madden believes the Sydney Surf Pro Junior is the perfect event to bring together the most promising junior surfers with some of the sport's biggest stars.
"With some of the biggest surfers in the world in Manly for the first WSL Challenger Series ever, we think that the juniors will really benefit from sharing the lineup with them and seeing them prepare," said Madden.
WSL Asia Pacific Tour Manager Will Hayden-Smith added:
"WSL is excited to be returning to the iconic Manly Beach for the Sydney Surf Pro Junior," Hayden-Smith said. "Manly has such a strong lineage with professional surfing so to bring a WSL Junior Qualifying Series event to Manly is something WSL is really proud of. It looks like we have a decent forecast for waves and with a massive field of surfers it's bound to be a really exciting few days of surfing and a great curtain-raiser to the Challenger Series event which will commence on Sunday."
The Sydney Surf Pro WSL Challenger Series event will run from March 6 through 6, 2020.
