Action gets back underway at the Cabreiroá Pro Las Americas with RD3 and RD4 of the men's event to decide the last 16.
Things were still pretty slow in the morning so the Cabreiroá Pro Las Americas remained On Hold for a little while, but on the outgoing tide waves started to peel again down the lefthand reef and competition got underway with the remaining heats of men's Round 3, then Men's Round 4.
Without much surprise, local legend Jonathan Gonzalez brought his dominating self to the party in Round 4 and advance with an 8.83, one of the highest single scores of the entire event so far.
The Canarian crew is going strong by the way with Yael Pena and Luis Diaz also making their way into Round 5 as well today.
Jose 'Nacho' Gundesen will be the sole international surfer remaining in the men's event, and Sol Aguirre will carry the same responsibility in the women's Round 3. That's two South Americans against the whole European continent in the next round, good luck you two!
The day's massive upset was the elimination of the 2019 event winner Timothee Bisso, which guarantees a couple of fresh new winners in 2020 since Daniela Boldini lost in the women's event as well!
On or Off most people stayed around the site to watch their fellow competitors or just simply cruise and enjoy the generous Canarian sun on another beautiful day. Who can blame them? Check out how cool the setup is below:
