The Hydralyte Sports Pro Junior Junior presented by Hyundai will return to Bells Beach next week to complete the WSL Australia / Oceania Junior Qualifying Series (JQS) for 2019. The event held on the 24th and 25th of September will be the last chance for competitors to move up the rankings and grab a spot at the WSL World Junior Championships too be held in Taiwan this November.

With an unprecedented five JQS event wins in 2019, two of which being Hydralyte Sports Pro Juniors, Molly Picklum has easily claimed the series for this year and booked herself a spot in Taiwan. Although Picklum won't travel to the Bells Beach event, she is over the moon to take out the regional JQS.
"To take out this series is such an honor because the standard of junior surfing in Australia is so high," Picklum said. "This year I really wanted to make the World Junior Championships and once I won the first event I knew I had so momentum. Winning five events has shown me that I have great consistency and can rebound well from loses. I'm stoked to have been part of the WSL JQS and the Hydralyte Sports Pro Junior events as I believe it is the best pathway to the Championship Tour."

With Molly having already qualified for the World Junior Championships, the last spot will be decided on through the Bells event. Bodhi Leigh-Jones Nyxie Ryan, Holly Williams and Pacha Luque-Light will all duke it out for the second qualifying spot when competition gets underway at the iconic Bells Beach.
On the men's side of the draw, the top three surfers at the end of the competitive season will qualify for the World Junior Championships. Currently, Dakoda Walters is sitting on top and thanks to some strong results and thus far hs already qualified for the international event to be held later this year.

The other two spots are up in the air with Alister Reginato, Taj Stokes, Caleb Tancred, Xavier Huxtable and Tane Bowden all in the running to qualify for the prestigious event.
With this in mind, the Hydralyte Sports Pro Junior at Bells Beach is set to be one of the most exciting climaxes to the JQS in recent history. The event will run from September 24 - 25.
