The E.Leclerc Pont-L'Abbé Junior Pro La Torche comes back following a highly successful first edition last year.
The E.Leclerc Pont L'Abbé Junior Pro La Torche comes back for a second edition the first week of May. Here's everything you need to know!
What?
Once again the event will be Stop No. 3 on the European Junior Qualifying Series. By then, surfers will have competed in Espinho and Caparica, two back-to-back junior events in Portugal to launch their season. La Torche will come as the midway point of their season and carry much importance in determining the future representatives of the region at the World Junior Championship.
Last year's inaugural edition saw surfers battle in solid conditions throughout the week, which proved challenging for some of the frontrunners in the European junior title race.

Justin Becret and Eveline Hooft swooped in the wins and kickstarted their bid for the top of the regional rankings.
Where?
Probably less of a mystery now with an event in the books, the La Torche point, which sits at the Southern end of the Audierne bay in Northwest France, is a natural peninsula with various expositions to the swells and winds of the North Atlantic.
It's a highly consistent beachbreak that can handle size. Waves break on both sides of the point, La Torche to the right looking out to the ocean, and Pors Carn to the left.
Lighthouse La Torche - WSL / Laurent Masurel
Conditions change drastically based on tides, swell size and directions, and of course winds. It can be a dreamy beachbreak one day, and turn into a rips monster the next, testing even the best surfers.
When?
