CT Stars Descend on Avoca
Tom Bennett
Avoca Beach is preparing to host their first Qualifying Series 3,000 rated event this week. The Vissla Central Coast Pro and the Sisstrevolution Central Coast Pro will run from February 27 to March 4.
With a healthy amount of QS points on offer, the event has attracted some of the sports biggest names including Championship Tour (CT) stars Owen Wright, Conner Coffin, Wade Carmichael and Bronte Macaulay to name a few.
These proven competitors won't have it easy with over 200 hungry QS competitors hoping to take down some big scalps as they look to join them on the CT at year's end.
Earlier today, trials winner's Joel Vaughan (Bateau Bay, NSW) secured himself a spot in the main event, taking out an elite field of interstate and local competitors.
Early forecasts indicate there will be one-to-three foot waves on offer over the opening days of the waiting period.
The Vissla Central Coast Pro and the Sisstrevolution Central Coast Pro will run from February 27 to March 4 and will be broadcast live from Day 3 at WorldSurfLeague.com and on the free WSL App.
The elite six-day event will form the third and final stop on the Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series and will take place in Avoca Beach.
The 2019 Vissla Central Coast Pro is supported by the NSW Government. The event will also be proudly supported by Vissla, Sisstrevolution, Central Coast Council, AirAsia, H2Coco, Avoca Beach Hotel, Sea FM, WSL and Surfing NSW.
