WSL Asia / Pacific is thrilled to announce that The Krui Pro Qualifying Series event in Indonesia has been upgraded to a Men's QS3,000 for 2019. The idyllic left-hander will also comprise of a Women's QS1,000 with the event running from April 29 through to May 4.Â

Located on the South West coast on the island of Sumatra, the Krui Pro began just two years ago in 2016 and has delivered fantastic surf to the QS surfers. This upgrade reflects the quality fields which have attended the event so far and who will now benefit from increased prize money and points on offer.
Contest Director and head of the Asia Surfing Corporation Tipi Jabrik explained the upgrade. Â

"The Krui Pro has rapidly become one of the most important surfing events in Indonesia," he said. "Establishing itself and the waves of the Krui area as an amazing surfing destination and showing that Indonesia should always be on the map of professional surfing with our quality waves and our talented surfers. Big congratulations and thanks to Mr.Istiqlal, the Regent of Pesisir Barat (the West Coast Region of the Lampung Province), for pushing this event from a QS 1,000 to a QS 3,000 in just three years."
