Brief Overview:
Expect some good swell for most of the week, peaking at around five feet on Wednesday then gradually tapering off towards the end of the week with poorer conditions over the weekend. Winds are generally light in the mornings with moderate cross-onshores from the north or northwest in the afternoons.
Synopsis:
The chart shows a complex area of low pressure in the north of the North Atlantic and a high just north of the Azores; with a moderate westerly fetch between the two systems generating some small to medium swell. That fetch gradually weakens over the next few days as a ridge of high pressure pushes up towards Scandinavia. A weak low over Iberia is producing fresh northerly trades off Portugal which could send some extra short-period swell to local areas.

Outlook:
On Tuesday a long-period swell from the north-northwest which arrived on Monday gradually decreases and mixes with some shorter-period swell from the northwest. Wave heights are around three or four feet and winds are light in the morning picking up to moderate onshores from the northwest by mid-afternoon.
The swell fills in again on Wednesday, picking up to five feet or so from the north-northwest and probably becoming a bit less lined-up. Expect windless conditions in the morning with moderate cross-onshores from the north picking up in the afternoon
On Thursday the swell continues; average to good quality with wave heights around four feet perhaps bigger in the morning. Winds are light cross-shores from the north picking up to moderate north-northwest by afternoon.
The swell drops a notch on Friday, holding around three feet or so all day and perhaps becoming a bit more lined up. Winds are very light onshores from the northwest in the morning, increasing to moderate perhaps fresh in the afternoon
Over the weekend expect some decent rideable surf at first, around three feet or so, but then quickly losing size and quality around mid-Saturday onwards. Expect some stronger cross-onshores from the north in the afternoons.
