The reigning ASP World Champ starts the day right with a few cover ups at his home break.
Unfortunately for Fanning, he wasn't able to finish right, settling for an equal fifth place.
Gabriel Medina proved the form surfer in the quarterfinals and eliminated 3X ASP World Champion Mick Fanning from the event.
