The New South Wales coastline will once again play host to the Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series when the four Men's and Women's Qualifying Series 1000 events kick off in January 2018.
Once again WSL Australia / Oceania and Surfing NSW has joined forces with the NSW Government, through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, Vissla, and NBN to bring four QS1,000 rated events back to Maroubra Beach, Cabarita, Avoca and Boomerang Beach.
The 2018 Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series was announced recently at Cabarita - the location of the Tweed Coast Pro - by Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall, Member for Tweed Geoff Provest, Destination Tweed Chairman Aymon Gow, Vissla's John Mossop and promising young surfers Max Kearney and Hinata Aizawa.

Mr Marshall said the four events provided a significant boost for local hotels, restaurants and businesses.
"The 2017 Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series contributed over $1.1 million to the NSW visitor economy, attracting more than 800 overnight visitors to the four event locations and we expect next year's event to be bigger and better than ever," Mr Marshall said. "I look forward to seeing Cabarita Beach packed with competitors and spectators next summer."
Mr Provest said the event would provide a welcome boost to the region following the devastating floods earlier this year.

"This event is an official World Surf League Qualifying Series event and showcases our stunning coastline to surfers and fans from around the world," Mr Provest said. "The Tweed Coast Pro has been a highlight of the summer for the past two years and we are looking forward to welcoming more than 200 surfers from around Australia and the world back to our beautiful region in 2018."
Vissla's John Mossop said the growing alliance between Surfing NSW and Vissla would help bolster the series again next year.
"The Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series is one series we're stoked to be a part of," said Mossop. "We were blown away with the reception the series received in 2017 and are expecting it to be just as exciting when it kicks off in January."

Destination Tweed Chairman Aymon Gow believes the Tweed region is perfectly suited for the high level of competition that's become expected at the Tweed Coast Pro.
"The entire Tweed coast is happy to host the Tweed Coast Pro again for 2018," said Gow. "The event gives local kids a great connectivity to surfing's future stars and hopefully it gives them some good motivation to strive towards this level."
Surfing NSW CEO Luke Madden said that the four-event series has become one of the benchmark events on the Surfing NSW calendar.
"Over the last two years the Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series has become one of Surfing NSW's key assets and it's a series we want to continue to see growing," said Madden. "Events like the Tweed Coast Pro have exceeded all of our expectations and we can't wait to see them kick off again in 2018."
WSL Australia/Oceania Regional Manager Will Hayden-Smith said the Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series was the perfect platform for World Surf League Qualifying Series surfers to get their 2018 campaign kicked off.
"The Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series is a fantastic way to kick off the Australian leg of the WSL Qualifying Series," said Hayden-Smith. "It offers surfers from Australia and all over the world the chance to start their 2018 competitive campaigns off in a variety of world-class locations. WSL are extremely grateful to Surfing NSW and all of the sponsors of the series for helping us give our athletes opportunities to compete and gain valuable points and prize-money on the NSW coast."
