The WSL Asia QS1,000 tour just wrapped up at the Krui Pro in Sumatra, Indonesia, and now the east coast of Bali is preparing for next week's Komune Bali Pro pres. by The Mad Hueys. This event is a highlight on the WSL Qualifying Series (WS) as elite Championship Tour surfers (CT), icons of the sport, Indonesia's top talent and a crop of the best up-and-comers from around the globe are in the competitive mix. The surf forecast is looking great and the stage is set for an exciting event.
Among the CT-tier talent will be Taj Burrow. He's a two-time event winner and is coming out of retirement to defend his title. Just over a year ago, Burrow stepped off the Championship Tour after 15 years, but he's confident he hasn't lost his edge.

"This is going to be the one and only WSL event I'm doing this year," said Burrow. "I love this event it has my best mates and pumping waves, it doesn't get any better. Bring it on -- I can't wait for this contest."
Brent Dorrington is a seasoned QS surfer and one of The Mad Hueys' top team riders in this year's event. Dorrington will be looking to make his mark here after missing last year's contest, last year when he injured his ankle the day before his heat.

"I cannot wait to get to Bali for the Komune Bali Pro presented by The Mad Hueys." Said Dorrington. "Keramas has always been up there as one of my all-time favorite waves and it looks like we are in for some epic waves for the start of the waiting period. I have also seen some big names on the entry list -- we could be in for our best event yet."
Tony Cannon, co-founder of Komune, is looking forward to the return of an event that has provided so many memorable heats over the last few years.

"The Komune Bali Pro is into its fourth year now," he said.
"Every year the event we do with the Hueys boys seems to get bigger and bigger with some amazing talent in the draw this year. For us at Komune the best thing about the event is being able to give the local Bali crew an opportunity to showcase their talent and surf against the world's top surfers at possibly the most contestable surf spots in the world at Keramas.
"We love the fact that the whole event is a great pool party with all the pro surfers and spectators alike joining in the fun...watching the event go down from the Komune Pool."
