After a series of hectic Round One battles at the Nazaré Challenge, competitors continued to push the limits even further in the Semis. Brazilian Pedro Calado posted a huge breakout performance when he won his heat with a solid 8-point ride. Joao de Macedo's Semifinal showing, however, didn't go as smoothly. Following his Round One win, the Portuguese native suffered a brutal wipeout when he went over the handlebars on a late drop. Luckily, a few decent backup scores allowed him to squeak through to the Final with Californian Nic Lamb.
