After spending a decade up at the elite level, Kai Otton surfed his final Samsung Galaxy Championship Tour CT heat Sunday at the Billabong Pipe Masters, where Kolohe Andinos cut his run short in a tight Round Three match. Afterward, he was quickly congratulated by his buddy Joel Parkinson, who was in the next heat.
"It's been a dream," Otton said of his decade on Tour. It was a dream he didn't reach until the age of 27, a mature age by surfing standards. Ten years later the WSL desk were happy to pay tribute to Otton, one of the sport's most colorful personalities, not to mention one hell of a great surfer.
