When Finn McGill paddled out for his Semifinal heat made up of local Pipe chargers, he knew he had his work cut out out for him. But growing up on the North Shore himself, the 16-year-old came in with plenty of confidence. Sitting in last place with just a minute remaining in his heat, Finn weaved through this throaty Backdoor gem to earn spot in the Final. He advanced with fellow Hawaiian young gun Josh Moniz.
