Friday was a historic day for the women of big-wave surfing. For the first time ever they competed in their own Big Wave Tour event, and did so at Pe'ahi, the most frightening lineup in the world. Conditions were wild when it was their turn. The wind was stiff, the bumps were big, and the drops were harrowing. Yet they banded together to make the most of their moment. Sure, there were horrific wipeouts and even minor injuries, but the women didn't hold back. The WSL desk team breaks it all down.
