Keanu Asing isn't afraid of a scrap. He may not be the biggest guy on tour, but he certainly rose to the occasion in his Semifinal heat against World No. 1 John John Florence. His light-footed, electric backhand attack complimented the softer beach break conditions perfectly. He sliced his way to an 8.67 on a long left, and the Jeep leader was stuck scrambling for a response. Florence still put up a fight, but it was Keanu who found his way into the Final with another excellent score (8.27) later in the heat. The huge result couldn't have come at a better time. Keanu is right back in the requalification mix.
