Some of the best Qualifying Series surfers in the world have already or are making their way towards the French Caribbean island of Martinique for the upcoming second edition of the men's QS3,000 Martinique Surf Pro starting this Sunday, April 17, 2016.
A full format of 144 athletes will take on the excellent righthand point break of Basse-Pointe come Sunday, with a stack of Qualifying Series ranking points and a US$100,000 prize purse on their mind.

The A-list of hopeful competitors entering this event is a testament to the location's incredible features and growing popularity. Current QS N°17, Ezekiel Lau (HAW), 22, will lead the field and follow in his compatriot Joshua Moniz's footsteps, winner of the inaugural edition in 2015.
Alongside the two Hawaiians, surfers from all corners of the earth will also have a go at the Martinique title, including former CT competitors Aritz Aranburu (ESP) and Brett Simpson (USA), current and past Junior World Champions Lucas Silveira (BRA) and Vasco Ribeiro (PRT) and a handful of rising talents including local wildcards Titouan Dubos, Adam Auffay and Nicolas Chalonec from Martinique.

This year again, French television group Canal+ will broadcast the event partly, on a dedicated surf channel created specifically for the event: Surf+. The channel will also feature documentaries and different pieces of content to fill the gaps in between competition days.
As a continued effort to make the surfers and public's experience enjoyable, organizers of the Martinique Surf Pro have once again created an extensive entertainment program featuring music and cultural acts, a partners village of shops and much more.
