Smith joins a growing list that also includes Brett Simpson (USA), who was injured at Huntington Beach; John John Florence (HAW), who rolled his ankle in Brazil; Michel Bourez (PYF), who was hurt at Teahupo'o; and Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), who hurt her leg last month.
