Round 1 of the Rip Curl Pro Pro Junior Series in Argentina was completed with waves 1-to-2 feet (0.5 meter) high at Playa Grande. Despite the small conditions, Miluska Tello (PER) was unstoppable on her way to reaching the Quarterfinals.
Tello, the reigning 2014 WSL South America Pro Junior Series champion, once again showed why she is the best under-20 female surfer on the South American continent. Currently, she leads the 2015 rankings after taking out the Rip Curl Pro Junior event in San Bartolo, Peru. The contest in Mar del Plata is the second of four WSL South America Pro Junior Series competitions that act as qualifying events for the WSL Pro Junior World Championship.

In Heat 2 of Round 1, Florianopolis native Marina Rezende (BRA) took control of the waves at Playa Grande in her heat victory. Vania Torres (PER) also advanced by defeating Josefina Ane (ARG) and Evelyn Gontier (ARG).
Local knowledge came into play, as the majority of the Quarterfinalists are part of the Argentine contingent. Indurain along with Catarina Mercere and Lucia Cosoleto will represent the host country at the Rip Curl Pro Junior Series in Mar del Plata.
When competition resumes, Tello will face Torres in Heat 1 of the Quarterfinals. In Heat 2, Indurain will come up against Rezende. Cosoleto will take on Luara Thompson (BRA) in Heat 3, and the lone Chilean, Lorena Fica (CHL) will battle Mercere in Heat 4 as they all compete for $2,500 in prize money and 1,000 Junior ranking points.
