Born and bred in the small beach town of Jeffreys Bay, South Africa, it was only a matter of time when Dylan Lightfoot will follow in his father's footsteps and start surfing at the world class point break. At the age of 8 he started competing on the local scene and after a few years, he had an impressive competition resume. Representing South Africa six times from the age of 16, until he launched his Qualifying Series campaign full-time at 18. A highly motivated yet humble professional athlete, Lightfoot not only sees surfing as his career choice but also a daily escape from the pressures of life. Some of his proudest achievements include his wildcard entry into the 2014 J-Bay Open and winning the Vans Surf Pro Classic at Lamberts Bay and the Royal St Andrews Hotel Port Alfred Classic in 2019. On the side, Lightfoot created a six-episode web series about Jeffreys Bay and is part of the water safety team at the J-Bay Open Championship Tour stop.
